The primary utility of SDFCU Mobile Banking is its consolidation of essential financial tools into one convenient, encrypted platform for on-the-go money management.

Mobile Check Deposit Capture

Users initiate a check deposit by selecting  SDFCU Mobile Bankingropriate feature within SDFCU Mobile Banking. The process requires endorsing a physical check and then using the device’s camera to capture clear images of the front and back.  SDFCU Mobile Banking guides the user through alignment and automatically processes the images. Once submitted, the user receives a confirmation, and the funds are deposited according to the credit union’s policy, effectively eliminating the need to visit an ATM or branch for this common task.

Bill Payment Scheduling and Management

This function allows for centralized control of recurring and one-time payments. Inside SDFCU Mobile Banking, users add payees by entering their information and can then schedule payments by specifying the amount, date, and originating account. The system stores these details for future use, and users can review a history of past transactions. This workflow ensures bills are paid promptly directly from a checking or savings account, helping to avoid missed payments and potential late fees.

Internal and External Fund Transfers

Members can move money between their own SDFCU accounts or send funds externally to accounts at other institutions. To complete a transfer, the user selects the ‘Transfer’ option, chooses the source and destination accounts, and enters the amount. For external transfers, the user must first link the external account through a verification process. Tapping a result provides the address, hours, and contact information. Users can then select directions, which open in their preferred mapping application to provide step-by-step navigation, saving time and effort.

Secure Login and Account Protection

Accessing SDFCU Mobile Banking is secured through multi-factor authentication, typically requiring a username, password, and a verification code.  SDFCU Mobile Banking employs advanced encryption to protect all transmitted data. Users can also quickly enable or disable card controls, such as turning a debit card on or off, directly from  SDFCU Mobile Banking to prevent fraud if a card is misplaced, adding a crucial layer of proactive security management.
