CityFit
CityFit is a member-focused fitness club app that lets you manage your gym pass, book fitness classes, and reserve personal training sessions from one place. Its most distinctive layer is the FitFighters loyalty program, which turns workouts into challenges, coins, and training levels. The real value is less admin friction between you and your next session.
How CityFit Handles Daily Gym Admin
Daily use is mostly practical. I open the schedule, filter by my home club, and reserve a spot before the class fills; the digital pass then sits in the app for entry. Personal training bookings work similarly, though confirmation speed depends on the trainer or club responding inside the system. What I appreciate is not having to call reception for every change. What still trips people up is that a reservation is not always a guaranteed entry if you arrive after the cutoff or if a club applies its own local rules.
FitFighters, Coins, and Motivation That Isn't Just Cosmetic
The FitFighters loyalty program is the part that feels different from a standard booking tool. Challenges award coins and attribute points for things like strength, endurance, morale, and speed, and those points push you into animal-themed training ranks. I found it useful during weeks when my motivation dipped, because a small challenge gave me a reason to show up. The downside is that gamified fitness is not for everyone; if you prefer quiet, unstructured training, the notifications and progress screens can feel like noise. Some challenges also assume regular club access or specific equipment, so they are harder to complete while traveling.
Membership Management, Payments, and Real Limitations
Managing a gym membership through the app is convenient, but it is not a full replacement for the front desk. I still had to sort out a billing question in person because the app did not show the same level of detail as the club's internal system. Subscription purchases and some extra options may appear only in certain regions or after updates, so the feature set can vary by account and club type. Offline use is another weak point: without a stable connection, schedule changes and pass access can become unreliable. Push notifications are helpful for class reminders, yet they can pile up if you join multiple challenges.
Who It Suits and Who Should Skip It
CityFit works best for members who already train at a club regularly and want faster booking, a digital pass, and a bit of competitive structure. If your routine is spontaneous, the app still helps you check schedules, but it will not make a crowded class appear. People who prefer paper, phone calls, or a purely social gym experience may find the platform adds steps rather than removing them. It is also less useful for anyone who splits time between multiple gym chains, because everything here is tied to one club network.
Getting Started Without Overcomplicating It
Install the app, log in with your member credentials, and set your home club first—that single step makes schedules and pass access far less confusing. Add a payment method only if you plan to buy extras or subscriptions inside the app, since some members never need that section. I would also turn on reminders selectively rather than accepting every notification. Before relying on the app at the door, test your pass once during a quiet hour so you know how check-in works at your specific location. If something looks wrong, compare it with reception; the app is a tool, not the final record.
